PROTECTIVE STYLE PICTORIAL – MILKMAID BRAIDS

Tutorial3

This post is a day late, sorry, but here is the picture tutorial I promised.  As I mentioned in my previous post, my hair had been in a bun all week and had become thin and greasy from moisturising and sealing it heavily.

Tutorial1
I got a lil bored of the bun and decided to do experiment with some sort of style when heading out for a quick lunch.
My hair was so greased up (from olive and coconut oil) so I decided to try milkmaid braids.  I didn’t think any other style would work.  It didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted but I was pleased enough with it.

So here is a quick pictorial of how I created my version of milkmaid braids.

HAIR + STYLE

Tutorial4
This dress had plenty of room for the nkwobi, pounded yam and efo riro I demolished at Yellow chilli.

Ladies, what is your verdict on this hair style?  Should I do it again?

Hey dear I love ur blog, I’m a hair junkie my self. I love everything hair. I recently started my hair journey about 10months ago. My hair definately has improved but not were I would like it to be. I started at below the ear length and now I’m about an inch below collar bone. Just to show you what a hair junkie I am I actually read threw ur whole blog in just 2hrs. Lol hahahahhaha. I found that u hardly talk about what you do personally, which product out of the ones u recomended u actually use. Plus it would be nice if you did a post on ur actual regimend. I also noticed ur hair is very full. I don’t know if this is cos ur hair is texlaxed. Cos ur hair does not look bone straight like mine. My main problem is my hair is not full ot thick. How can I make it fuller. I just started stretching my relaxers to about 10-12wks . I’m simply amazed that u can stretch to 20wks. When I stretched to 12wks I found that I did not gain that much length. But my hair seemed to be thicker and more healthy. I found I had to do a bit of tirmming after I stretched for 12wks so I hardly gained length. Cut of like an inch. So what’s the point of stretching if I’m gonna end up trimming it all off at the end. Another thing when I started my hair journey I was not as clued up as I am now. Cos my hair is coarse actually it feels like straw at times. I was relaxing my hair every 5 to 6wks. Cos I noticed my hair would start to break at the 6wks point. I now know this was bad for me. So 5 months ago I started tretching to 12wks. Which was the hardest thing I ever done. Wore wids the whole time. I would aslo like to know how u keep ur hair under ur wigs. Is it wrapped with a wig cap on it or did u corn roll it. How of ten do u wash ur hair when ur in ur wigs during ur wk 9 to 20wk. Do u moisturize and seal daily during that time to. Ok I know I asked a lot. Thanks for reading threw. I have recently started my own blog too. Its called. Let’sgrownaijahair. Pls check it out. U can see pics of my hair. I would happily accept any advice u have on how I can get my hair thicker.
Thanks and look forwrd to hearing from u.

      Hello Aramide

Wow, such a long comment. Thanks for taking the time to type it. I am happy you like the blog

I am definitely a black hair care junkie too so that’s something we have in common. I will try to answer your questions and hope I don’t miss any.

You mentioned that you read the entire blog in 2 hours, that is great but I think you probably missed or skipped over a few pages. majority of your questions will be answered when you look at My Hair Regimen page.
On that page I share my hair regimen, the products I use, the fact that I am texlaxed, how I use wigs to stretch, etc.
So I would recommend that you take your time and go through the contents of the blog again. That way you don’t miss anything.

thanks for sending the link to your blog as well, will be checking it out.

Sorry forgot to give u the link to my blog.

Pls check it out and let me know how I can get my hair thicker. I think the problems stems from relaxing my hair bone straight and also not puting stuff to protect the already relaxed part.
